Gridcoin (GRC) is an open–source token obtained as a result of the Litecoin fork. It works with the help of the Proof of Research consensus mechanism, which allows cryptographically verifying computing tasks of the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) and receiving cryptographic tokens as a reward for completing tasks.
